Her shirt is too clean and her hair looks like it was just washed and dried. Hard to do with no running water or electricity

PR is torn all to heck, but it is difficult to get relief to an island with millions of people on it. Everything that can reasonably be done is being done.

See, that is what I thought too, but apparently we're exercising our privilege in promoting ignorance. According the news I've been reading (CNN, Gizmodo, The Root, etc.) the real reason is because Trump hates black people and is therefore delaying aid. Of course, Rubio did win the Republican caucus there over Trump in a landslide...

I may be wrong but the appearance of the embankment to me showed no signs of recent flooding and the water level was a what appeared to be normal levels. The current, as judging from the water displacement around her body didn't appear to be that strong. Just a lot of little things, including the expression on her face lead me to believe that maybe things weren't that harsh there that day. It really made me believe that that picture was staged.

I talked to a friend of mine that is still in the AF and has done three runs down there (C-5 airplane) and apparently it's pretty damn bad and the pictures aren't doing it justice. I can't speak to the picture you all speak of, but there is a whole bunch of misery going on down there right now.

I do not doubt that the place was a total disaster. The pic showed an 8ish year old girl, very clean, neat hair, clean shirt. Holding a rope as she crossed a river that was not cresting the banks and very few ripples around her from rushing water. More like a lake she was crossing.
After the CNN clip of "saving" the guy from the truck in Houston I am very sceptical.

CNN has been caught so many times staging pictures, it's practically expected.

^This^ C-130 are doing the same thing. I know people on the ground here and in PR providing support and relief. Right now they need bull dozers, trucks, Seabees and RED HORSE.

If anyone finds the picture of the girl please post it.

I hear you. I think they are so far detached from reality, they no longer pretend. Look what editing the Zimmerman 911 tapes did to NBC's record. Nothing. Probably got them hundreds of thousands more viewers. Katy Couric and her BS stunt, the same. There is no down side for them, only potentially more clicks and eyeballs (ad $$).

Yeap.

I am slated to ride a C5 to PR tomorrow or Sunday out of Dobbins with some of our satellite COLTs (cell on light truck), Ethernet microwave hops, and emergency comm vehicles. Cell network is non-existent except in a handful of places, mostly because of destroyed fiber backhaul. We are setting up satellite backhaul for terrestrial COWs (cell on wheels) for Ponce, Arecibo, and other high priority spots. I will post as I have connectivity.
