I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion....like anyone here has an opinion
He'll be a target.
It's not his fault he was born into that family.
His squad will be a prime target.
He'll be an even bigger target.
Big balls or reckless youth?

1. I have much respect for him wishing to serve his country in a such a selfless way.

2. I do think his unit will be a target of high interest and that they will definitely be in the insurgents cross hairs. Of course I am sure the insurgents will have a catch and torture plan versus just a shoot and kill.

3. I hope all goes well for them but in the event he is caputured I hope the UK does not capitulate to the terroristic threats and instead sends some kick butt SAS guys in for a rescue op.

I admire him as well.

Those who would lead should serve first.

But it's a DAMN good photo-op for the British gov't, and you better be DAMN sure they're gonna milk it for all it's worth.

I think he has some courage, but a good leader always thinks of his men. He would put him men in more danger than is necessary.

It may make him feel good, but when him and his soldiers are specifically targeted because of his status any deaths will fall squarely on his shoulders. I hope he can bear that weight.

In former times, government leaders always lead their men into battle. Alexander, Julius Caesar (pronounced "K eye-sair," not "sees her," in case you are curious  ), and so on.

In former times the ability to put a hole in something from several hundred yards away was much more limited than it is now. Nowadays its much easier to reach out and touch someone. IEDs weren't that advanced back then either.

The kid has got some balls for going, and he'll be a source of inspiration for a lot of people. You have to give him credit for that. That whole country is obsessed with their royalty.

It just seems like he'd draw way too much attention to be in a normal unit. I hope they don't just send him out on patrols like he is a normal soldier. He's anything but normal and he'll be the #1 target for the entire insurgency. His capture would either bring most of the UK to its knees and bring them out of the war, or it would galvanize them all and it'd be on. Let's just hope they're planning on having sufficient backup for any missions he's a part of.

1. would you want to be in his squad? probably cause i admire his courage

2. would you want your son or daughter to be in his squad? no way cause they'd have crosshairs on them

3. what should he do? not much choice i think cause if he doesn't go he's painted as a coward rest of his life

4. if you were his CO? i'd dig a giant hole somewhere and put him in it and surround the hole with everything i could

If you plan to lead a country one day, it should be a requirement to be in the military and if that means fighting in wars and leading men into battle, so be it. I believe serving in the military makes you a much better and experienced leader, especially if you plan to influence or lead a country...
