I was about to post the exact same thing!! Oh well, as they say, great minds think alike.

I just made it thru 20 days and got rescued by the cavalry.
Too bad the other survivors you find can't shoot for crap. It's better to invest time finding other guns.
The pump shotgun and the ak-47 are very effective too. And if you get overwhelmed, there's always the almighty chainsaw!!!

I think they changed the game. Last time I played, the others got to use the weapons I didn't want to. This time, they were all using the pistols. FYI, you can't be stopped if you have the sawed off/Uzi combo. And you don't really need the Uzi, but it makes the guys with body armor a bit easier.

My weapons structure is a follows:

As the come available...
UMP 45 / .357
UMP 45 / Shotgun (long)
Uzi / Shotgun
Uzi / Barrett

I've tried using the AK & M4, to me it seems they just add a bit of flavor to the mix. The hunting rifle is good for those one shot / one kill scenarios. The Barret is good for those one shot / 3-4 kills scenarios. :)
