Damn I was smiling. I don't usually do that. My wife even commented that I was smiling when taking the pic and how nice it was to see such a smile on a usually dour mug.

On second look, you're right. Don't know how I could have missed those pearly whites!

Not me ...he is my youngest. My oldest (7, turns 8 this summer) has been pestering me since last year to take him fishing.I have taken him fishing several times. My youngest, has 0 interest in fishing ...none at all, and has been very vocal about it. He usually stays home with my wife when I take my oldest fishing. We have fished at Red Top and Lake Lanier. He has not caught a single fish ...but has been very good at learning how to cast, bait his hook, etc. But the kid can't sit still and is a chatterbox

So, this past Sunday, the whole family decided to do something and we found a place that had a playground near where me and my oldest could fish. I caught 2 right away ...and they were right when my oldest decided to walk away and go to the playground. He came running back when he realized I caught a fish. It happened twice. After the 2nd time, he decided to stay put. That was when his little brother came moseying over and asked "Daddy, can I try?"

His line just barely touched the water when he caught his first fish ...right in front of his brother too.

I miss the old days when we knew what each other looked like and some of us even got together once in a while.

My oldest. Poor guy was waiting so patiently to catch his first fish. He even wore my hat for luck.

He wants a fishing kayak for his 8th birthday. I know of a local reservoir that has a small island on it. It is electric motor and paddle only. I am going to tell him a tall tale then make an old looking treasure map indicating something is buried on that island. I have to find out if that would even be legal first.

I want to "help" him find the treasure. Get him off the xbox and get him outdoors

Buccaneers and buried gold ....adventure awaits
