My jeeps front axle has a leaky pinion seal. It's a D44. I'm not quit confident enough to do it. Wondering if someone would help me that knows what they are doing. I'm short on cash so not really looking to pay someone but will bring along a case of their favorite tasty beverage and lunch. I'll work and won't watch you. Appreciate the help.
Re: Pinion Seal It doesn't look to be all that hard. Here is a decent tutorial other than the fact he didn't use a seal driver or a big socket to drive the seal, loctite the nut back on, and killed it with the impact. http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/showwiki.php?title=How+To+Replace+A+Pinion+Seal Here is a PDF manual. http://www2.dana.com/pdf/5310-3.PDF Here's a vid as well though I wouldn't pull out the drive shaft, I'd wire it up with a hangar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNkGdByzyjI
