So what are the laws regrading the carry of pepper spray in the state of Georgia?
Pepper spray in GA is legal to use, purchase and carry. There are no laws that restrict it.
And, chemical defensive sprays are among the kinds of "weapons" that our state preemption law applies to.
See 16-11-173 (f)
"As used in this Code section, the term "weapon" means any device designed or intended to be used, or capable of being used, for offense or defense, including but not limited to firearms, bladed devices, clubs, electric stun devices, and defense sprays."
So, your County or City government is not allowed to regulate or restrict, in any manner, chemical sprays like pepper spray.
Pepper spray is not covered by the school property weapons law, either.
Guns and knives are, bats and clubs, ninja stars and nunchucks, even electric shock "stun guns" or Tasers are banned or restricted.
But not defensive sprays like O.C., pepperspray, MACE, etc.
