I'd just like to say for the record that Paulding County is slow as can be on getting GFLs issued. I've been waiting since May 18th for mine. It is now September 1st. This is almost three and one half months! Am I mistaken, or does Georgia Law stipulate that they are to get you a GFL within 60 days? Don't get me wrong. The folks at the Probate and at the Sherrif's Office are great folks, and I know they are probably swamped, but this is just silly. Is it taking this long for everyone in Paulding? Do you guys think this is a problem with headcount locally, or is everyone in the state waiting this long on the GBI to do the background checks? I don't know that much about the process, so I need to read up.
