I'm always amazed at the stupidity of some people.

If you claim to be a LEO, that claim will be verified by the real LEOs. You'd think everybody knows that.

You'd think, but, you'd be wrong...

Two arrested for posing as police at L.A. airport

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A man and a woman posing as police officers were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport as they tried to board a plane with a gun, a spokeswoman for the airport police said on Saturday.

The two were arrested on Friday after they claimed to be officers with authority to transport a prisoner out of state and the woman told airport security staff that she was carrying a gun and produced paperwork "implying they were authorized to carry firearms onto an aircraft," officer Belinda Nettles said in a statement.

Airport police made checks and discovered the two were not police officers and that the woman did not have a permit to carry the gun. Both were arrested for impersonating officers and the woman was also arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, Nettles said. She did not give their names.

Federal authorities are assisting with the investigation.
