I've always heard it was just better to get it dipped (I believe that can be up to a couple hundred dollars, but I'd hate to ruin the stock and have to spend more to get new stocks just because I screwed up).
I've often thought about using DuraCoat to do up a few firearms. But I really want to duplicate an existing camouflage pattern, which takes a bit more talent than I posess.
