I usually go up to the one in Resaca. It is a National Forest gun range. Range is free, $5 to park your car. Even has bathrooms.

Is the 2nd Resaca exit if you are going north (#320, I think). Turn left, go a few miles to road ends. Turn right, go about 100 yards, entrance is on the right.

I think he's talking about Johns Mtn aka Chestnut Mtn shooting range see: John's Mtn shooting range thread for more info and comments.
