All this talk about games on here make me ask if anyone on here plays Socom online?

I'm still stuck in the past with a PS2 and only Socom 2, but still get online from time to time with it.

Anyone else on here ever on?

I still have to set up my PS2 on my network here. I think I have that game, but I'm not sure. I just brought all my brother's games down here a while back. I don't remember what all is here and I don't play all that often.

I just picked up a 360, and I've been playing a lot of Rainbow Six: Vegas online.

I've gotta get the Halo 2 skillz up to speed before I play against some of the assassins on Xbox Live, though...

I just wanna say that the people who have been making the latest Rainbow Six games have completely bastardized it from its original glory.

They took it from a tactical shooting game to a run and gun piece of crap that is more to the liking of lamers who play quake.
I hope to meet the makers of these recent games so I can tell them just how much they f-cked up a great series.

/rant

My brother's don't play their 360 anymore so I might "borrow" it from them and start playing that.

I think you're thinking of GRAW.

Rainbow Six is still as fun as it used to be.

After I bought my PC I haven't seriously played any console game, about 4 or 5 years. And after I started getting into shooting my guns I couldn't stand first person shooters. I want realism not hollywood. Also it sucks playing online shooter games because eventually the people who play non-stop memorize the maps and the casual players get screwed over because they don't know where the perfect sniping spots are on the particular map.

Give me World of WarCRACK! No, but seriously I'll take a mmorpg over a fps. :p

That a negative.

The newer RS games are made for console, which usually translates to being made for the lowest common denominator. The game is neat, don't get me wrong, but it is nothing like the awesomeness of the Rainbow Six (the original) and RS: Rogue Spear

I enjoyed those two the most - the rest have gone downhill. It honestly just depends on who they're going after, market-wise. Older gamers tend towards more cerebral games instead of "shoot anything that moves and collect what it drops".

Not to say I don't occasionally enjoy a mindless shooter -- sometimes I just feel the need to destroy things. Lots of things. :launcher:

I might be the only one, but XBL took all the enjoyment out of Halo 2 for me. I loved the single player, but when I started playing the multi-player online, I would have my hat handed to me by a 10 year old within seconds of starting.

I spent more of my time on Star Wars: Battlefront I & II and Burnout: Takedown.

+1, I downloaded the Lockdown PC demo last year and was throughly pissed off.

Rainbow Six, RS: Rogue Spear, RS:3, and the original Ghost Recon are pretty much all I play.

I don't play online though. Just never really got into that. I will play network games with friends though.
