I admire the way you handled it eventhough the officer had you pegged rather accurately... Whatever, you stood up for three of our freedoms and are to be congratulated. So, thanks. And all this time I thought, obviously erroneously, colleges and universities are bastions of First Amendment supporters...

Please let us know what happens next and, like budder said, I too suggest you accept help from MP on this one. As president of the group, he might even get involved in the letter writing. Maybe our new public relations person could send out a press release about the incident.

I do wonder what would have happened if you hadn't approached the officer. He would just file a report? Break into your car and conduct a search? Have it impounded? Or what? Hmmm...

I hate that this happened to you. I congratulate you for standing up to this idiot. Even though he was doing his job, there is this little wheel called common-sense that obviously wasn't turning in his head. I had the honor :roll: of talking to a few of the campus police during my time there (class of '06). They were generally nice, but I got the feeling that they were rent-a-cops aspiring to be something else.

I am glad that they never gave me a hard time. I would transfer my HK from inside my car to my trunk everyday before class. :shattered: I drove a convertible and didn't want anyone finding something they shouldn't.

I found it funny and disturbing. I didn't think it was completely serious at first. I didn't think the sign would stick out that much in the back seat. Seems like you would almost have to be looking in cars or something.
