I often read the local Kennesaw paper and found this nugget.
October 16-ASSAULT- Busbee Pkwy, Villas Apts: Victim adviseed that two men came to his door and demanded to see on of his roommate. When he told then men that the roommate was not home and directed them to leave, one of the men kicked him in the chest. The victim then produced a .45 handgun from his waistband which caused the men to flee.

This is why I look through the peep hole, don't open the door and even keep it locked until I find out who it is and what they want. Let alone go to the door with a weapon. Because you just never know.

Seems like they could pick someone who does not live in a city with this ordinance on the books:

Heads of households to maintain firearms.

(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefor.

(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.

Of course, Kennesaw still has this parks ordinance, which violates O.C.G.A. 16-11-173:

It shall be unlawful to . . . Have in their possession any weapons or firearms including but not limited to hand guns, rifles, air gun or any knife that could be used as a weapon.

This is ironic after all the good press they got in gun magazines for adopting that other ordinance.
