I thought GS1 might be interested in this. Dempsey gets NRA endorsement From the Dempsey for state House campaign (ROME) – Katie Dempsey was endorsed this week by the National Rifle Association (NRA-PVF) for being a “pro-2nd Amendment, pro-hunting candidate†and lauded for her strong standing for the outdoor traditions of Georgia. The NRA is the largest pro-2nd Amendment and outdoor sporting organization in the United States. It has a strong network of members throughout Georgia, including the Rome and Floyd County area. Dempsey was one of only four House candidates endorsed in an open-seat race in Georgia this year. “On behalf of the NRA Political Victory Fund and all NRA members in the State of Georgia, I am pleased to inform you of your ‘A’ rating and endorsement for the 2006 General Elec-tion in State House District 13,†said Jennifer Palmer, Geor-gia State Liaison for NRA-ILA State and Local Affairs. “Our members will interpret your ‘A’ rating and endorse-ment as an indication you are a pro-2nd Amendment, pro-hunting candidate who supports sportsmen and gun-owners on every issue,†concluded Palmer.
As can be seen on the House report cards here on this site, Paul Smith, the Democrat currently occupying the seat, has favorable ratings.
Paul is retireing. The ads on tv for the unopposed seat she says something like she is going to keep the Atlanta liberal ideals in Atlanta.

Oh and the grades in both the House report card and the Senate report card are graded only by what they sponsored and how they voted. A grade of B or better means they voted for pro gun bills (A's mean the sponsored them too). C's mean they voted against some pro-gun bills, and D's and F's need to be voted out of office.
