Feeling like I'm in a vortex in South Ga. any other ODT or Ga Carry folks South of Albany?
Yes. We exist. Look into the South GA chapter of GCO
I'm in all-benny...
Think further south
And I have been informed by a native that it is and will always be pronounced "al-bean-de"
X use my bumbling fingers, "all-beany."
I am in Mitchell County.
I lived in Tifton for 5 years. I was routinely educated that it is All-Benny. Not AL-Benny or Albany.
I was also educated that the city on I-75 at mile mark 20 is Val-dahsta. Not Val-doughsta.
If you are not careful you also will be told how to say it and blessed.
Thomas County - next door to Grady County (K -row - Not Cairo as in Egypt)
Yes, remember that also. Albany has Cairo outnumbered but Cairo is more adamant about pronunciation.
