Not New Here but new to South Ga.

    I lived in Tifton for 5 years. I was routinely educated that it is All-Benny. Not AL-Benny or Albany.

    I was also educated that the city on I-75 at mile mark 20 is Val-dahsta. Not Val-doughsta.

    If you are not careful you also will be told how to say it and blessed.

    Yes, remember that also. Albany has Cairo outnumbered but Cairo is more adamant about pronunciation.
