You've met them - religious pacifists. Last night, I was driving home and listening to Hank Hanegraff ("The Bible Answer Man") when one of these guys calls in.

    Highlights in paraphrase:

BAM: So, does not love call on you to protect the innocent?

Caller: lots of prevaricating, but, finally, he agrees.

BAM: So, if you witness a child being kidnapped . . .

Caller still does not agree with violence.

BAM: And you know the child is going to be murdered.

Caller: No, because innocent kids go to heaven!

When Hanegraff reads to him Luke 22:36 (The Lord's instruction at the last supper that disciples who do not have a sword should sell their coats and buy one), the caller claims that Jesus never said that, and it is Luke's "evil" showing itself!

Here is the audio link to listen to this nut. It is very entertaining:

It is Monday, April 2, 2007, and the time when the call starts is 42:20.

I figured this was one "religious" topic that would not spawn any disagreements.

Speaking of biblical violence, why did god kill all the firstborn children in egypt? (Exodus 11:1-12:36) (10th plague)

    Pretty messed up.

Sure got Pharoah to change his mind when nothing else was working. Curious you mention that since today is passover.

So, any comments on the audio exchange? I thought it might be interesting to this forum's users.

I'd like to smack him around WITH a bible (about the head and shoulders) to teach him the error of his way of thinking...

Seems like the same caliber of person that has comprehension issues with changing the channel or turning the thing off.
