I did it for a little bit, it works, great "free" product you can make for lazy man fire starter, but it is work, and I prefer aged oak, and then again, city folk usually buy wood.

So there is give and take.

If you've got time to organize and prepare and make, and you don't want to have to buy wood, not a bad option.

After a tired days work, come home throw it in the fireplace, free to you with some labor and enjoy.

It is what it is.

I've got plenty of that. Asking about newspaper bricks here.
I know, it was a joke. I've made paper logs before. Lots of ash, they stink, etc. In an emergency? Sure. As a substitute? No thank you.
