I traded my 1100 synthetic 12ga that I really no longer needed after buying my DeHaan U1 for a Sig 239 in .40SW today. This is an LE trade in that doesn't appear to have been carried much at all as there is no finish wear. It came with three mags (two of which were still loaded with Gold Dots) and night sights that are still plenty bright. It feels nice in the hand and has a nice trigger in both actions. The placement of the slide stop always gets me on these things. At any rate, if it doesn't work well for me it'll make great trade bait.

Out of curiousity, that seems like a pretty compact handgun to be a duty-weapon. What dept issues those or was it a LEO backup gun?

It looks brand new though! Nice looking pistol. Provide a range report if you can later. I saw weight is 25oz unloaded online.... could be a real nice carry piece.

I'm not sure which department had it, but I'm going to try to find out. The box is marked "law enforcement" and it was part of a departmental trade-in. One of my officers bought a while back and traded it to me today for the 1100.

I'm not sure this pistol was never issued as there is no holster wear on it at all, and most of the Sig trades that I have seen show holster wear.

Agency trades can turn out to be treasures. If you can find one that was in inventory for years but was never issued or was issued to a desk jockey and didn't get beat up like can happen to a patrol gun you can get a highly quality pistol at a low price. I'm still kicking myself over an old Memphis PD 5946 that I didn't snatch when I had the chance.

I've got an 6904 trade-in. I think I bought it back in 99 and never had one jam over who knows how many thousands of rounds. Probably the best value in my safe. I think I paid 250 bucks for it. I carry it occasionally but it's a pretty big package for a 9mm compared to my Kel-Tec. Fabulous firearm though.

I WANT ONE!

Of course, I've already got a compact .40 carry piece, but that's a beautiful looking weapon.

The S&W 3rd generation stuff as police trades are some of the best values out there on the market. I've got three of them that were police trades.
