    Hello all!

Went to the Farmers Mkt show both days this past weekend and came away with a very positive experience.

I have good news on several fronts so allow me a moment to degress :D

Show admission is $8 which is good for BOTH DAYS!! (just don't wash off the red mark on your hand) also, the website has a dollar off coupon you can print out. Bottom line is $3.50 per day!

Met and spoke with both the Show Manager ("Little Joe") and the show promoter "Rex". Both gentlemen were very receptive to my promotion of GCO!

In the process of our conversation I promoted GCO to the max. Here is the verbal commitment I got from Rex.
    1) He will arrange for GCO to have a table near the front of the entrance.
    2) He said that he would wave the table cost for us!!
    3) The gentelmen is very committed to both local (US) and the national level of our rights.

Rexs' shows cover several states and he is the largest promoter in the east.

A true benchmark of a good show is the vendors opinion of the Promoter and all the folks I talked to were positive.

This is for GS1 and MP:

Rex gave me his private cell number as we exchanged contact information. I would like to provide this to you both since you gentelmen are at the top of totom pole so to speak. If you know of another contact point that would be more apporpiate please email me.

Folks, lets support this venue as a good and refreshing change from the status quo of the Eastman shows.

    Happy Trails to All,

    47Cowboy

So, what would make me want to go to his shows over Eastmans? Just out of curiosity. Cause at the moment I consider Eastman shows a waste of money.

Sorry for the brain snap, happens in old age

Links to the new gun sho promoter who bought out the GA Evnets org.

    http://www.rkshows.com/coupon.htm (dollar off coupon)

Correction to statement of largest promoter. . .hmmm on second thought maybe not but when you look at the calendar and locations in all the states they are up there with the big boys 8)

    tace,

In response to your question. I have personally known Matt Eastman for 40 years going back to the late 60's and the shows at the old Lakewood Fairgrounds that were so big they were in TWO BUILDINGS. Matt has always been obnoxious, arrogant and condescending! But now he also half senile and deaf. (Disclaimer: my personal opinion)
Talk to any of the vendors and ask them their opinion of Eastman shows and the continued price increases, bad treatment etc. THEY are the folks who really know Matt and why a new promoter is desperately needed.

Now then why go to the new promoter? Let me count the ways!!

He is FRIENDLY and will TALK TO YOU
He is receptive to our cause (GCO)
His show has a positive air to it with HAPPY VENDORS.
His mission is to grow the shows to include a much larger venue and numbers of vendors.

BTW. . . . THEY TURNED DOWN OVER 60 REQUESTS FOR TABLES. . . Matt never had that problem

Last but not least. . . .who else is there?

:) Thanks for working this out! As one of the coordinators, I want you to know that I (and I'm sure the others) really appreciate what you've done.

    Thanks!

Stopped by Mission Essential in Hinesville this weekend to pick up a new toy and Josh (the owner) said that this show was cancelled. ??? Has anyone else heard this?

    Outstanding, 47Cowboy.

I'd love to work a show that's not a flea market.
