Yeps, VCDL goes to work when needed. Get a couple hundred OC guys on Lobby Day that know what they are talking about, organization and planning for the lobbying and go into a room to talk with a legislator in groups of about 10 at a time shows some strong oppositions.
Getting up at about 4am to go catch a bus for a 2.5 hour ride to Richmond, meet, organize and team up across the street (in 20couple degree weather) and appear in each office, at time of appointment, shows a good chance those are serious single issue, well organized voters.
The only problem we have is is about 7000 members. In a state with 450K CCW permit holders and many people have never heard of us.
If you know anyone up here point them to VCDL.org. (Side note-- Phillip Van Cleave who authored the article Rugerer linked above is President of VCDL.)
You know what would be a great idea?
Each state level grassroots organization should have a link on their website for all the over state level orgs. That would help get the word around, since folks are often moving to other states.
