So yea, went to the range here. Apparently I didn't get enough of the cosmoline off. I cleaned it several times too. It jammed like crazy, so I'm going to take it apart completely in a little bit and DETAIL clean it. Might even polish up the furniture a little bit while it's all apart. 8)

Get the drum magazine! I got one for mine (75-rd drum) and it is so cool. Fully loaded with ammo it is about the same weight as the gun. I bought a chinese drum for something like $100. That's kind of expensive I think but it isn't too bad a price. And even though it was a Chinese drum it didn't have any problem popping right in to my Romanian AK. The only problem I've had with it is that it would jam on the last few rounds. That was due to not enough spring tension, I tightened it up with a few extra spins and it pushed the last ones out no problem.

I've got to get this thing firing right first. Then, I'll get a scope eventually. That's the plan for now, unless another great deal comes up on a rifle and/or pistol. I definitely plan on waiting until after the FNRA raffle before doing much of anything besides ammo. I've got 1k 7.62x39 rounds on the way. And I'm waiting on maybe something from the group buy for .40 or I'll see what kinda deals I can get at the gun show coming up in a few weeks.

Congrats. I love my AK. Once you get all of the cosmo goo off of it, the gun will spit out every round without a hicup.

Yea it did alright for a while. It was pretty accurate considering I haven't sighted it in yet. Shoots a little towards the bottom right. I'll fix that when I get it firing right.

Did you get a GP WASR or just a WASR10? Have you been shooting it much? I'm looking to get a GP WASR or a good deal on a SAR-1 AK.

GP. I'll be in Gwinnett County (Lawrenceville) Friday afternoon through Sunday night or Monday morning if you wanna meet up or something. I've put 340 rounds through it. 100 brown bear and 240 wolf HP.
