I installed a set of TFO sights on my USP. I used nylon punches from Brownell's. It was quick, easy, and I managed not to break anything in the process!
Congrats. Sights are the best upgrade you can make on a firearm. I usually use a 2x4 and sledge hammer. Seriously, it works. Of course, I only do it on GLOCKs. There is something symetrical about using a sledge hammer on a GLOCK.
The front sight came off pretty smoothly. The rear moved about 1/16" and then didn't want to budge. I gave it a really hard whack and the little sucker flew across the garage
Yeah, I had the slide in a vice. Here's a link to TruGlo's site. It looks like you're out of luck with the compact .45: http://www.truglo.com/content/products/ ... sights.asp
Are they protected well enough that breakage won't be a concern? I have F/Os on two of my target pistols, but I can easily slip in new pieces if need be. I can also change the size of the dot.
Thanks. That answered a lot of questions for me as I had only seen rear view pictures of them. Those should be sturdy enough for carry.
