My first attempt at gun modification was a success!

I installed a set of TFO sights on my USP. I used nylon punches from Brownell's.

It was quick, easy, and I managed not to break anything in the process!

Nice. I've been meaning to do that myself.

Congrats. Sights are the best upgrade you can make on a firearm.

I usually use a 2x4 and sledge hammer. Seriously, it works. Of course, I only do it on GLOCKs. There is something symetrical about using a sledge hammer on a GLOCK.

The front sight came off pretty smoothly. The rear moved about 1/16" and then didn't want to budge.

I gave it a really hard whack and the little sucker flew across the garage  :D

Was the gun in a vice?

    Link to the sights?

Nice pic. Are the fiber optic pieces replaceable?

No, they are "molded" into the metal. Different colors are available, though.

Are they protected well enough that breakage won't be a concern?

I have F/Os on two of my target pistols, but I can easily slip in new pieces if need be. I can also change the size of the dot.

Yes, as you can see, they are only exposed from the top.

Would you post a side view of the sights?

Thanks. That answered a lot of questions for me as I had only seen rear view pictures of them. Those should be sturdy enough for carry.
