So, today while much of the news & entertainment media generally tried to help Americans get in the holiday mood by celebrating Thanksgiving,

MSNBC put up on the front page of their website an editorial against one aspect of Thanksgiving --the annual presidential pardon of a couple of turkeys that would be otherwise destined for somebody's dinner table.

The black left-wing activist (Fn.1) who wrote this piece said he did a lot of research on the issue and found that Republican presidents brought up the connection between choosing not to kill a turkey and invoking the "presidential pardon" power for real crimes. They exploited this and made it into a light- hearted photo op.

Therefore he says this entire tradition needs to be scrapped. He thinks we cannot allow Republican presidents to make corny jokes and let Americans smile about a silly holiday while they're ruining America and oppressing people.

He said , (and I agree with this actually) that the presidential pardon power is too serious a thing to trivialize over Thanksgiving turkeys, and the President should use this power to help people in real trouble.

Footnote: Just read the headlines of some other articles in opinion piece is this guy wrote. He's clearly nothing but an anti-American, anti-Republican, progressive/communist who MSNBC has mistakenly labeled as a "journalist" (but again that's the sad state of journalism in America today.)

Yep, that would be great especially combined with the Prez reciting of a prayer recognizing that the animal is a blessing granted to the people by The Almighty for the purpose of sustaining them.

Here's a Native American prayer that would be very much on point for Thanksgiving:

"Today we have gathered and we see that the cycles of life continue. We have been given the duty to live in balance and harmony with each other and all living things. So now, we bring our minds together as one as we give greetings and thanks to each other as people.
Now our minds are

We are all thankful to our one Mother, the Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life. ..she continues to care for us as she has from the beginning of time.

We turn our minds to the all the Fish life in the water. They were instructed (Fn.1) to cleanse and purify the water. They also give themselves to us as food...

We gather our minds together to send greetings and thanks to all the Animal life in the world. ... We are honored by them when they give up their lives so we may use their bodies as food for our people....

Now we turn our thoughts to the Creator,
or Great Spirit,
and send greetings and thanks for all the gifts of Creation. Everything we need to live a good life is here on this Mother Earth. For all the love that is still around us, we gather our minds together as one and send our choicest words of greetings and thanks to the Creator.

Now our minds are one."

The Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy,
also known as Haudenosaunee,
meaning “people of the longhouse,”
referring to their domicile structures.

The six Nations are:

(1-5 allied since about the year 1200)

Seneca,
Cayuga,
Onondaga,
Oneida
Mohawk,

Around 1720, the
Tuscarora nation

was admitted into the league as the sixth member.

The Confederacy members referred to themselves as "Haudenosaunee."

This is the area of North America that they are from and once controlled.

Presumably this link. If not please cite the correct one.

If I were President, hack, off with the Turkey's head, right there for the cameras!
Yeps, I would ask the handler if they brought an ax. Then mention to the media there will be a photo op at dinner showing that bird well cooked.

Watch the PETA folks really freak out on that one.
