Looks like it's not just a Catholic thing, it's a Christian thing. If we are to use the same standards, and all Muslims are terrorists or support it, then all Christians are molesters or support it.

To take it a step further, why don't we hear condemnation from every Christian leader, unless of course, they condone this behavior.

Sounds kind of silly when you put it that way.

Nice try, the minister of our church has spoken out about this stuff on several occasions, even offers a "support" group and church funded counseling. Its a acknowledged problem in many churches. You may feel its been swept under the rug by the Vatican, and thats true to a certain extent. I can bring you to our church and our pastor will gladly speak to you about this, please provide me with the Imams that denounce Sharia law as violent. :righton:

Because Shari'a law is not uniform across the Middle East. It is any group of people (with power) and their interpretation of what is meant by the Qur'an, and applying that to secular law. So in some places it can be violent, and in other places not. Just like some Christian believe in the death penalty and others do not. It is not so different.

But the question is, why isn't the media putting a camera in front of every Christian leader, asking for a comment on this situation.

Your pastor may have condemned these activities in the confines of your congregation, but why haven't we heard a public denouncement, why not a statement to the press? Isn't that what you demand of every Muslim leader?

I think it has something to do with the Vatican playing a much larger role in this world. If you think about it the Vatican is it's own country. They can deem something a sin and the world listens, they get invites to the WH or other countries, I guess consider them the White Dove of the world... This stuff isn't news honestly, its been going down this way for centuries. Look at how the roman catholic church played a role in the 1500's during the rule of King Henry VIII. But as time passes the church loses more and more grip of society because things like this. Seriously.. if that pastor was as christian as he acts.. would he do these things? Of course not, this pastor is in it for the money, he rolls up to service every morning in his bently phantom drinking champagne out of a sippy cup. I believe in god, I live my life respectfully as someone who wishes to go to heaven but I don't think church is a place that based upon that anymore, its become more of a social gathering than a place of worship. The church down the road from me has a starbucks in it. Has anyone else here seen the Six Flags Over God located in gainesville? HA they have a trolly system to take people to the church. So to answer your question why a big stink isn't raised over the christian faith, its simple.. People just don't care anymore and more than likely its because they don't have a person who is the face of their faith like the vatican. When I say Catholic/Vatican you think The Pope. When I say baptists/methodist etc etc you think Benny Hinn :D So to solve this problem all thats required is a mascot of some sort.

Because the Bible condemns it. Therefore any Bible believing pastor will be against it as well.
And yet it still happens.

1) Please point to the passage that condemns the molesting of young boys by church leaders.

2) The Qur'an does condemn the shedding of innocent blood.
[17:33] Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand retaliation or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life, for he is helped (by the Law)''

“Whoever kills a soul â€" unless for another soul or for corruption (vice and mischief spread) in the land â€" it is as if he had slain the whole of mankind. And whoever saves one â€" it is as if he had saved the whole of mankind.†[Surah Ma’idah 5:32]

And yet it still happens.

You must not have updated your bible. They relased another book that has the passages you're requesting. They redid the new testement and created the New New testement i think its the 2010 King James Version on DVD. Barnes and Nobles have them.

He hasn't heard denouncement from muslims.... I was simply pointing out that I haven't heard denouncement from his minister. He claims they have (like the muslims do) but I haven't heard it. Pot, meet kettle. Kettle, meet pot.

He's heard denouncement.. just a VERY quietly one done in front of the congregation. I doubt any pastor would go public through the media. Sorta puts them in a spot light and makes the Annual preacher ski trip in the Alps more ackward. I used to go to a church where you had to bring your own fold out chair, it had 4 walls, 2 doors and some stain glassed windows. We learned about god. I miss those days when church was about something more than who has nicer things and what type of starbucks you want.

Wow is it possible that some of the imams did the same thing???? Or are you holding the imams to a different and higher standard than your own minister???? I would imagine that a ski trip with an accused pedophile would be awkward anyway. Just saying.

im not holding any of them to any level really. So I think you're trying to push on the wrong door here. I'v been skeptical of all religions for a very long time, not for what they believe in but how they're ran and the faith being shoved down peoples throats.

Let me spell this out for you. Every religion except the christian faith has some sort of Spokes person. Theres a face that associated with all of them except the christian faith. If the roman catholic church does something wrong the Pope is called and vatican goes on stand by.

Heres you a list created in 2005:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_leaders_in_2005

Now go through that list and see how many people you recognize... You're list is going to be VERY VERY VERY small. Thats all I'm saying in regards to your original post man. The catholic church dishes out commands such as :

THE VATICAN FORBIDS YOU TO SEE TWILIGHT

The vatican forbids people to read Charles Louis de Montesquieu - "The Spirit of the Laws" (a work that greatly influenced Jefferson, Hamilton and John Jay). The Spirit of the Laws is perhaps the most important political science book ever written. It was one of the primary sources of the United States Constitution and, through that document, one of the major influences on the development of democratic institutions in Europe during and after the French Revolution.

As you can see when a church such as the Vatican/Roman Catholic has played a role in world history for centuries. No other religion shaped this world quite the same. I'm not catholic by any means nor do I approve of anything they do or say, I feel they still till this day think they rule the world because of the Pope. When in reality no one really cares what they think or say.

This preacher in the article shouldnt be a preacher any longer. The church should remove him until further investigation period. Just understand I care less about the roman catholic church, the Islam religion or the "christian" sanct here in the US. I have my beliefs, I will stick with those I don't need a man to yell at me from a stage to tell me what I can and cant do in my life time, my dad was in the Us navy he did it enough and I learned all I needed to learn. Religion isn't what it used to be and more and more of the world is starting to see the irony that is created by the very same people that lead these religions and branches.

How about this, so that we are fair to both Christians and Muslims in America:

1. No mosques should be built within three blocks of a terrorist attack. It is still too soon, it would be insensitive to the victims, and it might attract those that would commit acts of terror to the site.

2. No churches should be built within three blocks of a school, playground, or park. It is still too soon, it would be insensitive to the victims, and it might attract those that would molest children to the site.

3. It is acceptable for Christians to burn their own copies of the Qur'an and vice versa, but only if membership is flagging and you need the publicity.

Sound fair?

Wow. Tough crowd, with a agenda. I can't help that you haven't heard our minister say that ...or anything to that matter. Who's "fault" is it that those words haven't been heard? I'm sure you'll tell me shortly, you seem to be pretty well connected. Hope it serves you well, I'll pray for ya.

The Bible doesn't mention pedophilia. Regarding rape, if a man rapes a woman who is not engaged, he must marry her. Since I assume the boys are not betrothed, that's going to be an awkward ceremony.

By those standards who is to blame for those of you who didn't read all of the condemnations of 9/11 coming from the Middle East?

Maybe....just maybe, the MSM is biased at times. By all standards the Muslim community is more conservative than your average attendee at a Tea Party rally, and perhaps the media has a biased against anyone who is conservative, regardless of religion. Or maybe its against religion itself, as that is the opiate of the people.

Funny i just saw this today.

The phrase 'those who live in glass houses should not throw stones' comes to mind.

In no way am I condoning the pastor's actions in the original post. I'm just pointing out that the pedophile pastor is not representative of Biblical teaching.
I have one better for you. This is during hajj in Mecca itself, the most holy celebration in all of Islam.

http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/saudi-ara ... d-1.685165

Maybe it has nothing to do with either religion, and the failings of certain individuals?
