i went to dragon-con several years ago just to see
the misfits play. i was amazed at the work some of
these "geeks" put into their costums.
you are so right about the half nekkid women.
but no money this year.
If you saw the Misfits play, then you saw me. :) I was one of the security goons on the stage with 'em keeping the crowd surfers off the stage. 8)

Ordinance Check

I anticipate bringing my FUN guns for plinking at 100 yards or less.

1-- Marlin 39 TDS (Take-Down Special), .22 LR lever action.

2-- Taurus PT111, titanium slide w/night sights (My primary carry gun).

3-- Walther P22 w/AAC "PILOT" suppressor. (This is the same gun that I brought to the Griffin Steel Plate Challenge, and had some jams with, but now that I tightened a loose screw in the action, it seems to be reliable.)

Now if you guys want to plan an EXOTIC WEAPONS SHOOT at some later date, I'll plan on dragging out a submachinegun and some Tannerite exploding targets (to be detonated with a scoped high powered rifle).
And maybe a Street Sweeper-- 12 rounds, 12 gauge, 12-in barrel, (and about a 20-pound trigger pull!)

Good point made there Tony. How many others will be bringing wives, kids, girlfiends (please if bringing a wife do not also bring a girlfriend, there will be loaded guns involved) etc. I will be bringing my wife.

I want to come to this thing and shoot with y'all.

It's a 3 hour drive each way though (I'm north of Gainesville).

I am a commercial, instrument rated pilot and have access to a pretty nice Cessna 182 (150kts, onboard weather radar + GPS). I am night & instrument current and have flown about 40-60 hours in the last 90 days. I have 100 hours in this airplane and am current, proficient and sharp. I'm working on my certified flight instructor license, if you want to fly while I teach, that'd be OK with me.

It'd be about a 45 min flight from Gainesville. The airplane is enough of a lifter to carry about 900 lbs of people+gear.

Anyone want to share the ride (and some of the expense) with me?

I'd like to leave after church (noon) and then head home whenever the fun is over.

Bummer! It just don't seem right to have a "GeorgiaPacking Shoot" without GS1! What's keeping you away?

My parents are hosting a pool party for the local dance club that they belong to and want me to help. I said yes a long time ago but just found out the party is next weekend.

.22 silencer

the AAC "Pilot" uses 1/2" diameter threads, 28 turns per inch. The darn thing STILL unscrews itself in use, though. Every 20 shots or so, you have to give it a check-twist.
