Hmmmm, a gun show at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry... Isn't that facility owned by the state and if so then legally you can't carry there?

Gun shows commonly have police at the door putting tie wraps on weapons. There is an exemption to the public gathering law if you bring the weapon to the police' attention and they tell you what to do with the weapon.

i did. got there about 1:00 pm left about 3:00 pm.
went to the range next door used about 500 rounds
9mm luger. my son bought a taurus 9mm (not sure of model#)
my daughter loved her first time at the range.
she shot my s&w model 469 and her brothers new taurus.
we kept her first target to hang on her bedroom wall.
she did pretty good for an11 yr. old first timer.
sorry i missed anyone else that was there.
i pm"d john with my phone # but i guess he didn't see
it in time. there will be more times we can get together.

John is a friend of mine and I just received an email from him answering a question from two weeks ago . . .

500 rounds - that is a lot of shooting! :shock:

well we had my smith & wesson, my son's taurus and
my masterpiece arms mpa30sst (see avatar) with four
people shooting. 500 rounds took about 45min.

i would love to get together with you guys and go shooting.
by the way john answered my pm today 2 days late

Pick a Date

Okay, so let's pick a date and see if we can get maybe 10-20 people to agree on it, and then let's pick a location and see if we can still get 5-7 people to agree on THAT too, and then it's a done deal.

If we're talking about somewhere in the Atlanta area, or anywhere along I-75 south from there (Forsyth, Macon, Perry, Tifton, Valdosta) I'm good for any weekend in June. That's June 3-4; 10-11; 17-18 (Father's Day); 24-25.

Who's got some free time in June? What days work best for y'all?

Well.....its August and September is fast approaching.
The West Point WMA range is outside of LaGrange. Its out in the woods, and most of the time is virtually empty plus its free, clean, and a very nice range.

Its an hour and a half from Atlanta. Forty minutes from Carrollton. one hour from Fayetteville. one hour from Columbus. fifteen minutes north of LaGrange.

no muss, no fuss....no red lights or major traffic. Diffenently no stop and go traffic. South of Newnan and Carrollton is a breeze to drive... can't get any easier............... :roll:
