I have applied in two different counties and have never even met the Probate Judge. SInce there is no discretionary issue, this is a ministerial task that is delegated to the clerk's office.

Because of the post on Forsyth County, I am curious: How many people here had to meet the Judge to get your license?

Just post, met the judge or did not . . .

Putnam: not technically, but the judge at the time was a personal friend that jumped the sheriff for delaying my background check because he had me confused with someone else

I had one there before moving up here to Atlanta (Fulton). Applied my senior year in college. The probate judge used to come into the store I worked in and I waited on him alot (camera and electronics stuff). When I applied I asked to see the judge and he gave me five minutes. Told him I was appying and we shot the bull for a few. It took about 5 weeks.

Fulton - No

I renewed here once and I did it at the North Annex. There are just clerks there that take forms.
