Mavericks Arms?

Anyone know anything about them? They have a line of hunting rifles (243, 270, 300, 308, 30/06) that have nylon stocks with basic scopes (3x9-40) for a great price. Is the price too good to be true? :?:

I think so.
i am pretty sure they are a "offbrand" division of Mossberg. i know when i bought my Model 88 at wally world it had Maverick arms stamped on it
It's basically a Mossberg ATR 100 made in Mexico... picked up one in .308 but have not even had it to the range yet for a report.
Guns are manufactured in MEXICO????

C'mon you guys are lying now.....

Seriously!

I've watched the news you know.....

All the guns in Mexico come from the United States!!!!

No, the QUALITY guns in Mexico come from the US. The rest come here for us to buy.
I went ahead and ordered one for the store. They are made in Texas and are a good gun for the money. Are they 1 MOA...nope but at $349 for a .308 bolt action with a decent scope and fairly nice trigger it will fit exactly where it is supposed to. Middle of the road , decent hunting or plinking rifle for very little money.
I took my brand new maverick 88 20ga to my first skeet shoot, and shot 100 rounds and not one problem, worked very good. :righton:
i never had a problem with my Maverick 88 either. had it for years until i sold it. kinda wish i didnt now they are more than double the price
I have two Maverick 88 HD shotguns and while I do not shoot them a whole lot, they have performed flawlessly on the range and given the price and that they are strategically placed in the house for emergency use, they serve their intended purpose. I also own the new Maverick 88 in .308 but have not shot it as of yet. If it performs comparably to my 100 ATR in .270, then for the price, it is a steal.
This is my Maverick 88 12 gauge, and trust me, there is nothing "low quality" about it. These shotguns are Mossy's, just with a few inexpensive parts here and there to keep the cost down.

If given the choice, I would choose a maverick 88 over a moss 500 because of the placement of the safety. However I do like that the 500 has the two piece forearm, although some are being produced now with the one piece plastic one that is found on the 88. But, this is just my opinion.

Sounds like moat people are happy with their Maverick 88s. Thats cool. Mine was a lemon. Had clicks instead of booms couple of times per tube. Finally sold it with full disclosure for $100 and was glad to be rid if it.

Doesn't mean they are junk. Just that mine was.
wow you should have called mossburg they would have done you right, I have had two 88s one in 12ga and now in 20ga never a problem, my next one will be the hd 12ga.

I know I should have, but I was very new to guns at the time. I just didn't know any better. If it happened today I definitely would.
I didn't realize they were made by Mossberg. Given that they are Mossbergs, I'd give one a shot (no pun intended). I have been very happy w/ my Mossie 12ga (it was my first firearm when I was just a lad :righton: )....
