So what happened to the " gun brandishing bystander" after police arrived. Good on the good semaritan for acting. It appears that serious bodily harm could have occured from the ordeal if no one had interfered.

Never been to Manatee FL, but living in S FL for several years this is nothing to write home about. A crowd gathering to see someone get stomped is pretty much the norm down there, if that area is anything like where I used to live, this guy has no idea how lucky he is that an armed citizen was willing to step up and make things right.

Kudos to the bystander who made the decision to step in on behalf of this marine and his wife. He did so at considerable risk to himself both physically and legally.

Thank God for the "bystander," but why wasn't the Marine carrying?

Good for the guy who stepped in to help. Times have changed in that part of the world, apparently, not for the better. Bradenton used to be a very nice major retirement destination. Too bad...

Talk about times a'changing...the grandmaster of my martial art tradition wrote in one of his books about how when he was a student he could ride the trains in Japan while carrying a spear or sword and no one would even bat an eye...or they just too polite to say anything.

    More than 300 witnesses?

The Marine is home on leave from a tour in Iraq.
