In a ruling issued on Friday, a federal judge in Oklahoma said prohibiting marijuana users from owning guns violates the Second Amendment. That restriction, U.S. District Judge Patrick Wyrick concluded in United States v. Harrison, is not "consistent with this Nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation"—the constitutional test established by the Supreme Court's 2022 decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen.​

The Oklahoma case involves Jared Michael Harrison, a marijuana dispensary employee who was pulled over last May on his way to work for failing to stop at a red light.​

Possession by a marijuana user became the law in 1986.

Just how deep does this judge think the regulation must go?

Generally speaking laws against marijuana exist because everybody knows smoking marijuana makes you stupid. So when it comes to guns & weed, the theory is that people who regularly make themselves stupid shouldn't be armed.

This begs the question, and I have to ask --what about people who are naturally stupid, all the time?

Folks who on their best day are still dumbasses, who are prone to making stupid impulsive emotional decisions?

I Think the Founding Fathers would not have approved of the gov't disarming people who fit that description.

Yeah, remembering what George Carlin told us to take the average person and realize half of us are dumber...but I disagree with your assertion that smoking mj makes you stupid. There's plenty of intelligent people who use cannabis. If you're stupid to start with and use mj, you're likely still stupid.
