A case just came on where she sounded very anti-gun. A guy was open carrying without a license in VA and the gun ended up going off in the car. Basically, the moral of the case was that the lady shouldn't have went to a party with someone open carrying or with a guy bringing a gun into her car and that the guy was an idiot for carrying a gun.

Gotta give her credit for one thing, if the gun "accidently went off" he probably was an idiot.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

And he probably doesn't need to be carrying a gun.

Why was this on Judge Judy? Was there an injury? Property damage? Was she suing him for loss of hearing or something?

He had an ND inside someone's car and damaged it.

    The guy was an idiot.

That said, Judy used this guy's idiocy to paint anyone that would want to legally carry a gun as an idiot.

Carrying a firearm=idiot. Hanging out with someone carrying a gun=idiot. Letting someone bring a gun into your car=idiot.

This was the lesson of her show today.

The guy was in VA. He said that he didn't have a carry permit but that he was carrying his gun open carry, on his hip. Judy asked if that was carrying a concealed weapon? The guy said it wasn't because he was carrying it visibly on his hip.

He said he thought where they were going might be dangerous (a party) so he OC'ed to the party. They said he was 21 and had a couple drinks at the party. He said that he put a round in the chamber. She made him admit that he was an idiot for carrying a gun, carrying to a party, carrying it in a car, and placing a round in the chamber.

She's worth over $100 million, and pulls down $20 million per year additionally. Her perspective is probably a tad skewed.

The guy said he didn't have a permit to carry a concealed weapon but said that he had to register his handgun in VA. :?

I don't think VA has handgun registration, does it?

Going to a party you believe to be so dangerous that you "need" to carry a gun, rather than carryng to be prepared but hoping you never need it, makes you an idiot. Yep, I said it.

There's some other female judge show, don't remember the name. The woman in the case, whichever side she was on, kept bringing up that her ex-husband had 20 something guns in the house, blah blah blah. Finally the judge said something like "Are they legal? Then stop bringing them up, they don't have anything to do with this case". Thought that was pretty awesome.
