This is terrible news. I enjoyed the conversations he was involved in and was always the gentlemen.
A little insight into John...
Only 64. Too young. I will miss him. He was a good member here.
He never complained about health problems here, did he?
He was posting regularly until less than a week ago.
We will miss you John.
He had mentioned at one time that he was in a wheelchair and had limited mobility but I don't recall that he complained about much of nothing. His obituary mentioned donations could be sent to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
He will be missed.
I'm so sorry I missed this thread, as I would have like to have gone to the funeral.
I just got word that he passed a couple of weeks ago of a massive heart attack.
I first met him a few years ago. He was an active GCO member up in the Blue Ridge area and had invited me to speak at a local meeting. Over the years I spoke at other meetings(one up in Murphy NC) because of his efforts. He also headed up a GCO table at several events in the north central mountains. Before one speaking event he took me shooting at a range his club did the upkeep for across the line in NC.
John was a good man with a sharp mind and quick wit. He was also very involved with the local mountain politics, and had just started writing a column for a local paper.
He will leave a void that will be missed.
Can someone add "bubbageek" and correct his last name in the title? Thx
Condolences to his family. He was always a good and kind gentleman here, and I always enjoyed interacting with him. May he rest in peace.
He is a good guy. Condolences to his family.
