I'm planning on going to the Carl Black Classic Rodeo in October and want to know if I can carry there? I believe it will be in the equestrian center.

Was looking around on the websites for the rodeo and for Jim Miller Park, didn't see anything to indicate any restrictions on firearms. I would guess you would be good to go to carry. Jim Miller Park has long been good to go for carry for such things as the North Georgia State Fair.

I used to be a bull rider for the Florida Cowboys Association. I think those were the most care free, fun, years of my life. Have fun at the rodeo.

With all the weight I have lost recently, I finally look good wearing a cowboy hat again.

Thanks for the info. It will be the first time I've taken my kids to a rodeo.

I carried my pistol openly at Jim R. Miller Park last year during the Fair. Spoke briefly with one other openly carrying as well. No issues with law enforcement or anyone else.

Did get a double-take by an EMT.

The double take wasn't because of your gun

Then it was either because of the beautiful woman I was with (my bride), or my own good looks.

I used to do a little bulldogging at UWA, also tried calf-roping and bull riding. Rodeo is lots of fun. Enjoy yourself. You would figure that is one place guns would be welcome. One thing I always loved about rodeo's is they always had a prayer and the national anthem at them. SOme even played Dixie.

I don't know about Jim Miller Park, but I have carried several times, openly, at the rodeo in Coweta County. Sheriff's Deputies down here do not care about it. We have a good Sheriff.
