Let the airlines fail.
nothing much will change until they see dollars moving away from them.
This is out of the airlines' hands.
If they fail then the TSA will just move to trains...buses...pretty soon commerce stops....they win.
I think what irks me more than anything is that there are the "privileged few" who are allowed to simply bypass security...the very ones who make the laws think they are to good to be subjected to the same standards as the "little people".
I chose to fight. The government won't let the airlines fail, or use it as a chance to nationalize the airlines. I don't fly anyway. No where to go and my job doesn't require travel.
I love the "let's set those aside" as a response to the failure results of the covert
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.... and that is what most Americans
will do... turn their heads, accept that this is in their best interest and agree that
they no longer need to have Constitutionally protected rights...
Not "we have reviewed the data and addressed the failings", just pretend that
you never saw or heard about the problem.
As for finding more contraband... somewhere, someone has an amazing collection
of nail clippers and little sewing scissors...
I hope that Michael Chertoff will share his retirement fund with Janet.. she is doing
a great job selling (or is that RE-selling) his ineffective technology.
I need to get a T-shirt that says "TOUCH MY JUNK-- PLEASE" just for travel on commercial air
The nail clippers are re-sold on the concourses for $2.50 a pop.
Good For You!
What??!!?? I dint do nuttin'....
We can fight their authoritarian shennanigans with ridicule, humor, blogging, t-shirt messages, video (legal, of course), voting, and any other peaceful, legal way we can. Fight! Fight! Fight!
Scissors and nail clippers have been allowed for several years, as are certain cigarette lighters. However, I recommend not carrying pricey scissors, nail clippers, darts, or cigar cutters. There is no rationalizing with a moron that doesn't know his own rules.
Makes me mad too. Amazing how fast Congress passes rules (law) or TSA changes the rules so the Congresspeople can pass through without the invasive body searches. It didn't take but a few days for those rules to change. I don't understand why they think they are such a special group. I give you they probably aren't terrorist but neither are the business persons who fly every week on the same airlines. Me, on the other hand, should be checked. I've flown half a dozen times in my life and am a very shady character. I'd even check me.
Yet Congresspeople have done more damage to the country than any 10 Bin Ladens could ever dream of doing.
