came home to find my house burglarized. the BG came back for another load. i shot him w/ 3 rounds of 7.62 center mass. i didn't give him any warning.
 Is that the one that made the news a little while back? It was posted around here somewhere, I believe.phaed said:came home to find my house burglarized. the BG came back for another load. i shot him w/ 3 rounds of 7.62 center mass. i didn't give him any warning.
yeah, that was probably me. i told the story in detail over at defensive carry...The military guy up north GA?
When I read this for the first time, this is were it got uber-creepy for mephaed said:he opened my back porch (enclosed) door and came inside. he then made his way to the door into my den (where i was in the dark) and began to open it. as he was coming in, i told dispatch i had to assume he was still armed, and that i was going to have to shoot. i placed 3 rounds center mass and he dropped to the floor. he was still alive, coherent, but paralyzed. he asked why i'd killed him. even while dying, his first instinct was to lie. he explained that he was just a concerned neighbor coming to check things out after he saw a burglar. then, as he started to fade, he said he was trying to change his life. i kept my weapon trained on him, and stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher until the first LEO arrived.
Yes, another future neurologist or astronaut lost to gun violence. How tragic (sigh)... :wink:phaed said:then, as he started to fade, he said he was trying to change his life.

I don't have an underfolder, but my dad wants one. He's probably going to get a few things before the election.pro2am said:Yeah...kind of hit home for me too.AeroShooter said:When I read this for the first time, this is were it got uber-creepy for mephaed said:he opened my back porch (enclosed) door and came inside. he then made his way to the door into my den (where i was in the dark) and began to open it. as he was coming in, i told dispatch i had to assume he was still armed, and that i was going to have to shoot. i placed 3 rounds center mass and he dropped to the floor. he was still alive, coherent, but paralyzed. he asked why i'd killed him. even while dying, his first instinct was to lie. he explained that he was just a concerned neighbor coming to check things out after he saw a burglar. then, as he started to fade, he said he was trying to change his life. i kept my weapon trained on him, and stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher until the first LEO arrived.
Thanks for sharing this information phaed. Good to know the 7.62 does the job and the folding stock was instrumental in clearing your home. I'm picking up my underfolder in the next few days...its been on layaway too long.
i've never spoken to them, nor they to me. the LEO's on site said the parents were mature people who had been put through a lot by their son, and didn't expect any problems from them. there have been none. You mentioned that it was your next door neighbor's son that tried to rob you, is it difficult living next to them now? Or do they understand their kid was a thief and that is one of the risks of the job.
no sir. i just recently learned about this board, and don't even know what GCO is, but i'll look into it now.Out of curiosity, are you a member of GCO
i remember you. accent? i got my pistols back, but GBI still has my sks. the investigator believes i'll get it back, but they are taking their time. this incident resparked my interest in firearms. i've bought quite a few since. i try to stop, but the little bastards keep following me home from the fun store.I saw you the same day buying a pistol at the range
Let us know if we can answer any questions for you.phaed said:. . . don't even know what GCO is, but i'll look into it now.
