Informative info on Mossberg 500 series

Since trading for a 500 series, I've been watching videos on taking it down and cleaning it.

Found this video that is very good for helping you decide between the 870 Rem, or the Mossberg 500\590.

they are hard to beat for the money. i've got a couple. there's nothing wrong with the remington 870 either. there IS something wrong with the 1187 though...i've had nothing but problems with that one.
500's you can change the magazine tube and barrel easier than you can change the magazine tube on the 870.

I have a few 1100's also
at 10:40 he says that the Mossy 590 has a metal safety, whereas the 500s have a plastic safety. I had the plastic safety on my Mossberg 500 break, and it locked the gun in the "safe" mode until I could take it apart and Jerry-rig it. Later I got a new safety. I really should look around for an all-metal safety, if one's on the market.

What I have on all my Mossburgs. All metal and much more ergonomic.
