Okay,

I have decided after much thought and reading here on purchasing a G26. I am looking for a better gun, but still around 500 or less. I have seen them listed just about everywhere for about 490 new and a little less used. Any concerns I should watch out for? Like which Generation I should not buy or does it matter? I have read the differences on this site but wanted real experiances mentioned.

Thanks for the help, and man I wish I could have bought Larry's a while ago!

I have one and carry it often. It is a great little gun. I put the magazine extender on it so my pinky didn't fall off the grip. It also added 2 rounds to the capacity. With the extender that makes 12+1. The gun is too small for a rail anyway so IIRC the only other difference would be in the grip - finger grooves or not. Someone correct me if I am incorrect.

I bought mine new at a gun show about 6 years ago. I had really not shot much prior to that and took it to the range right away. I was knocking down pie plates left and right, right out of the box.

I have other Glocks and now Sigs. Of all my guns, when I take guests to the range, they love the G26 the best.

Check Clyde Armory in Athens/Bogart for a $$$.

Slightly off topic, is Clydes LEO only? I looked at their website and it seems very LEO orientated.

EDIT: link added

Clyde Armory

They are very LEO oriented but are not exclusive. Basically, they do most of their business with LEO agencies. Their inventory is mostly what you would expect for LEOs. They sell mostly Glocks, Sigs, HKs, M&Ps, tactical shotguns, etc. They do have some ARs and other long guns as well. They to trade-ins for LEO agencies so you can get good deals on used stuff there and they take trades off the street too. Good selection too.

I have never had a bad experience there. Their prices are better than anywhere I have found, including on-line. Some shops seem to like to sell pistols with only 2 mags but Clyde almost always does 3. I might be wrong on this but have heard that not everyone does this. Some shops will tell you the LEO marked ones get 3 but "civilians" get only 2.

VIPER - did you get by there today? Give us your impression. I am starting to sound like a commercial.

okay okay

I called them and thats the agency price.

$499 is the retail........
I didn't think that sounded correct for new. Also, I think that left hand search option is new. It seems to take you through a back door. You normally don't even see prices listed for Glocks if you navigate through the "handguns" link on the left hand side.

For example, the Sigs (using the search option) show 226s for $599 and $679. That is LEO vs citizen price. If you go through the other option you only see the $679 price. Either way, I would call to confirm what you see before driving out there.

Still great prices.

Waiting for the company I'm interviewing with to schedule the interview. Should be over there either Monday or Friday of next week (I hope).

Sharky, if you're willing to be patient, there's always good deals available on clean, low round count 3rd Gen Glocks. I'll keep my eyes open for you if you're willing to wait for a good deal. It's become a hobby for me anyway. Let me know.
