I might finally buy a Hi Point.

There are not a lot of good .45 ACP PCC options on the market. This however might make a good trunk gun project depending on how much it cost.

well that will shatter the Hi Point reputation for the ugliest guns ever.

(I love my Hi Point 9mm carbine)
I have had a couple of their 9mm carbines. They were fun shooters. The fit and finish left a lot be desired, but they were reliable.
Yea, not so much interested in 9mm, as I have the EVO to scratch that itch, but .45 might be a different story.

I know right... it actually looks pretty good. I like the Tavor style trigger guard.
I might be interested. It needs more than 1911 capacity though. That would be the major deciding factor in front of trigger feel, weight, and cost.
The carbines are nice little guns, reliable and inexpensive, if a bit ugly. I'm just not a fan of the limited single stack magazine capacity, either.

check out the new 20 round magazines. they are as ugly as the carbine itself!

Is that a single stack banana pistol mag

yes. single stack. although, I would call it a "boomerang mag" myself. Not sure if that will work in the C9 or not.
With a .45 carbine, you could probably shoot .45 Super with no need to do any mods. If you could get a slightly stronger recoil spring, that might be a good idea.

And whoever thinks that gun is ugly needs glasses. It's downright purdy. :)

Okay, with the new stock, it's not that bad looking. If the Hi Point makers would change the gun design to double stack magazines, ie, something comparable to a Glock 33 rounder in 9, or at least a 20 rounder for .45, then I would probably buy one.

Funny reader comment from the article: "Buying a Hi-Point is like riding a 50cc motor scooter. They're fun as hell, even if you don't want your friends to see you with it."

Very true. Accurate, solid, reliable, heavy and ugly. But they work and the factory stands behind them.

Like the old saying-- more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I really liked those as a kid.
