I was going home from work and a Buck came out of nowhere. I hit it hard. I was going the speed limit (35) and slammed on the brakes. I pulled over, fully expecting to see an injured animal in agony ... could not find it. There was no blood trail. I called 911 to report it (for insurance) and a deputy took the report. The damage was to the passenger front side of my Jeep. It looked minimal .. when I got home, I couldn't open the front passenger door all the way.

I am still puzzled ... where did it go?

I just filed a claim and added photos and the report number. The Officer told me that she would look for the deer. I feel so bad ... poor deer :( I hate seeing anything suffer. I know it probably collapsed somewhere.

Glad you didn't get hurt. Deer are incredibly sturdy. They can run a long way, several hundred feet, after receiving catastrophic injuries.
The deputy may have been going 114 like the video says, but the dashed white center line is telling me that he was going about 70.
