    For your perusal is an article from Dr. John Lott in the Chicago Tribune written November 20 this year. If you are a supporter of the 2nd Amendment you need to be aware of Dr. Lott and his work. There is no one else on Earth that accumulates, correlates, and presents more FACTS about gun ownership than Dr. Lott. And literally, all of those facts indicate that GUNS SAVE LIVES. That Georgia Carry has not invited him to be a keynote speaker at one of their annual conventions is one of the great unsolved mysteries of our time.

    Here is the article:

    Here is an article from CPRC that addresses surrounding issues and provides the data referenced in the first article:

    And for the "Snopes is the final word" folks, here's a link (imbedded in the second link above) to address Snopes duplicity on the subject;

    Constructive feedback and discussion always appreciated!

    DonT Deplorable bitter clinger.

    Good article, thanks for posting that. I have been a regular reader of John Lott. I get his emails from the CPRC, lots of good nuggets once a month or so.

    One of the few "common sense" facts in the "gun violence" debate - those wanting to do harm to others choose the venue of least resistance. But rarely do those events outside the US receive the same type of coverage that events inside the US do. So we dumb Americans think the problem is mostly ours. The Beslan School shooting in Russia was one of those few that got lots of US coverage. Good article.

    The national media tend to ignore case after case of mass public shootings being stopped by armed private citizens. Just a couple of days before the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh a concealed handgun permit holder stopped an alleged killer who was shooting blacks at a Kroger grocery store in Louisville, Ky.

    National media outlets such as ABC and NBC covered the attack, noting that the alleged gunman told another white man that: “Whites don’t kill whites.” It sounded as if the gunman was merely reassuring a bystander that he had nothing to worry about. But reporters left out the crucial first part of the quote. The killer said: “Don’t shoot me. I won’t shoot you. Whites don’t shoot whites.” The other white person was pointing a permitted concealed handgun at the killer.
