As I was leaving the range, I realized that I needed some carry ammunition. I usually carry Federal Hydroshok 165gr, but the gun shop was out and the guy behind the counter suggested Hornady TAP FPD 180gr. Anyone ever use this stuff? Is it any good? I'm a little apprehensive about carrying something I have never had a chance to shoot... [-o<

Hornady TAP 155Gr. is my carry ammo for my Glock 23.

I put a box of 20 or so rounds through it when I first got that ammo. The 23 ate it like a champ.

From what I've read the hydroshoks have some expansion problems, though I can't give you a source. Something about them having an outdated design.

Well that makes me feel better. My Glock should be happy then.

I would have gone with 155 had it been available...

My G17 loves Hornady TAP 147gr JHPs. It's the ammo use when I carry it, and when it sits in my safe.
