"They" hope that by making the hands-on search more personal and humiliating that you'll be more inclined to accept the backscatter alternative.

Are they kidding? I see no mention of a happy ending anywhere....disappointing.
It's my understanding "Happy Endings" cost extra.
Leave it to something air travel related to nickel and dime you. First the extra charges to check a bag, now for a happy ending too. :shattered:

New congress meaning the same group (party affiliation) who gave us the Patriot Act? Don't hold your breath.
Which party voted for the Patriot Act or its renewal this year?

Republican control in 2006:
Senate vote 98-1.
House vote 357-66.
Bush signed it.

Democrat control in 2010:
Senate vote was a 'voice' vote with no roll call.
House vote 315-97.
Obama signed it.

Why, that would be both of them, both times.

That approximates to an increase of 8 votes per year against renewal or a decrease of 10.5 votes per year for renewal in the house. That means it won't have enough support for renewal in 12-15 years. Okay, okay, I'll go back to a hope for a balanced budget instead...
