Hey, does a 20-gauge shotgun in the closet seem like it would make a good home defense weapon? Sure it would. And if you leave the gun loaded and un-locked in your bedroom, you would probably be able to get to it in a hurry, right? You bet. So is leaving a loaded shotgun in your bedroom 24/7 a good idea? Does it make your home safer? :?

Or does it lead to your nephew blowing his buddy's guts out, because these 12-year old boys found your gun and decided to play with it?

Guns that are not carried on your person should be SECURED.
Deny the use of your gun to curious children, emotionally unstable teenagers, adults who are not trained in safe gun handling, or criminally-minded adults. Keep your gun where it won't be used by anybody but you, when you're not right there in the same room with it, awake, and keeping an eye on it.
