Thanks for your kind reply. I have spoken to the probate court on several occasions and although nice they have not been able to help. The sherrifs office has also been unable to provide any insight. The GBI told me that the background check was completed and alright. I applied in November with my wife, she has recieved her CCW, I had to resubmit fingerprints in March and still I wait. No one can tell me the status of my application. I just joined Georgia carry yesturday at the gunshow. What are my legal options??

Welcome!

I'll be sending your application on to the appropriate folks tomorrow.

I'm the guy with the beer gut, the GCO tshirt, beard, and mustache who was going on and on about how crappy GA gun laws were. :)

Great to have you here, jamgar!

I was the guy next to gsusnake. You remember, the scruffy-looking, balding guy with the gray hair and beard.

I sure hope everything gets straightened out soon on your GFL. Ten months!!

Pistol Permits---------- (912) 652-7267

Call in the morning and ask them about the status. Don't let them give you the run-around. You need to know why something that is required by statute to be issued after 60 days at the latest has taken nearly a year to be issued.

Please get the name of the person with whom you speak and what his or her response is. Be direct, but not rude... rudeness will not help you here.

Look at this :censored: !

# First time applications usually take four (4) to five (5) months. Please wait at least four (4) months before calling to check on your permit. The permit is valid for five (5) years, at which time it may be renewed.

STATES ENTITLED TO GEORGIAS FIREARM LICENSE RECIPROCITY:
Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas
I need a list of all the states with which we are reciprocal so when I call and visit the Chatham County Probate Court, I can ask them to update this information and do so accurately.

Ten months!

That is an absolute freakin' outrage!

Even Moore v. Cranford, such as it is, does not countenance such a delay.

Oh, wait!

As I have said I have spoken to the probate court several times. On one occassion about a month ago I spoke to the probate clerk who was sympathetic to my delay but could not help me and said that the judge could not or would not speak with me as he/she would be unable to help. She told me that the long delays were secondary to implementations made by the dept. of homeland security. She also told me that if I feel threatened I should carry reguardless of the GFL status. So I should break the law and if caught be denied my constitutional right in the future?!! I am not carrying at present as there is no specific threat but MY GOD!! Also let me restate that I was required to resubmit electronic fingerprints in March after original submission in November due to some technical problem. I am actively trying to contact the probate court today and the last time I spoke to them was 1 month ago. I appreciate everyones insight

So this was even electronic, which gets transmitted to GCIC in real time and run within minutes . . .

Just spoke to Beth at the probate court. She told me the 6 MONTH wait started over in March. This is crazy. What are my legal options and should I start down that path.
