Hello, my name is Louis. I am addicted to spending money on guns. I am in the middle of a life changing career move and I still have time to sit at my computer and stare at guns wondering what to get. SOOOOO, I figured why not ask the wonderful population of GPDO to help pan out my decision. Here is the list: - H&K USP .45 acp OR 9mm (maybe the expert) - SIG P226 .357 sig OR 9mm - NIGHTHAWK CUSTOM GRP 5" standard .45 acp My wife just bought her Gucci purse so she cant say a damn thing about how much I spend on my next gun. The floor is now open for opinions... If there is any other HANDGUN that you think should be involved then name it. I say handguns only because I will not be persuaded away from my dream and inevitable ownership of my class III G36. Someday we will make love.... some day.
If I was going to get a USP, but not for concealed carry, I would get the the tactical version. That way you can add a sliencer later on.
Im also going back and forth about the HK... Not whether or not to get it but whether or not to go 9mm. It would cost 1/2 as much to play at the range. This means a good amount of money being saved considering range trips twice a month tossing 500 rnds a trip. 45 gets expensive really quick.
What do you have already? I really want a Sig 220 two-tone. I can wait. Just ordered another Glock, should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Next is a shotgun.
I will respond to that question with an answer that will run parallel with what the government knows i have. .45 STI Guardian 9mm Taurus 24/7 pro 30-06 Remington 710 .32 KelTec (wifes) the rest is for me to know and for others to not find out...
I had a Rem 870 with the works. I sold it and kinda regret doing so. I might buy a saiga 12 gauge to make up for the lack of the 870. But thats down the line...
You def. need a Sig. Pick one, any one. IMO - if you want full size as a defensive weapon get a 220 (.45). If you want something to shoot at the range, get the 226 in 9mm. If you want something to carry get either the 229 (.40) or the 220 Carry (.45). Just my .
Of those choices, I'd get the Sig, but since you seem to want .45, the 220 might be a better choice, especially so that you can share ammo.
Seems to me that you guys like the Sig over the HK. May I ask why? I think the 226 in 9mm would be a good choice. Why do you guys keep bringing up the 220? Is it a better pistol than the 226?
Im not set on owning another .45 I would actually rather get a 9mm so it cost me less to shoot. So if I were to get a 9mm would you advise the 226?
The 229/239 fit my small hands much better. I don't know how they fit you. If you have small or medium hands, take a look at the 229. At least we can get rid of the .357 idea. That stuff's expensive!
Well you can go with a SIG 226, 229 or 239 all in 9mm. I have the SIG 226R and SIG 239 both in 9mm. I am very happy with them and will be looking soon to replace my 229R I had to get rid of to help out in an emerecency. I do not have a problem CC any of the mine from the 226R to the 239. Only you can decide on what to get. If you can try and shoot them before you make up your mind on what you want to get.
If you don't have a .45, then your collection is incomplete so either go for the 220 or the HK USP, doesn't really matter, they are both great guns. If you wanna plinker that will in a pinch take out a bad guy, try a Walther P99 or HK P30 or HK2000, not the USP since it doesn't have the picatinny rails. If you like Berettas then there is also the PX4 Storm, which is also a very nice piece. The P30, P99 and PX4 are acclaimed to be the most ergonomic guns by different ppl, but you need to be the judge by holding them. If you want a 9mm plinker that is not plastic then you are not complete without one of the two most accurate and highly acclaimed alloy guns, Sig P229/6 and the CZ75.
