Came across this site via Google. Looking forward to scouring the forums!
Welcome aboard! we moved to Leesburg from Kathleen, can't say I'm sorry to be out of Houston County, too much conjestion for me...
Cool! You can Google this site now.
Curious what you were searching when you ran across this?
We should, google bot and yahoo bot are constantly searching the site.
I too am curious to what your search words were.
Actually, I was looking for what states have reciprocal agreements with GA.
The plain-English 16-11-120 document reeled me in.
21 states, if I can count. The most recent Attorney General press release (July 1) is here: http://www.georgiapacking.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=770
In reality, though, this is the list of states that Georgia recognizes. I think the list of states in which a Georgia resident may carry is slightly broader. Can anybody else help with this one? Arizona?
In addition, there are a lot of states where one need not have a license to carry openly, such as Oregon, and two states where one need not have a license to carry concealed (with the inevitable overlap of one of those states also recognizing Georgia's license and Georgia recognizing that state's license).
In addition, some states off nonresident licenses that may expand reciprocity for you to ten more states (or so).
Also, have you had a chance to check out the exemptions for military personnel in Georgia?
Or you can look at the pretty map I made with color coded states.
Though these are only states that recognize the GFL. The map does not include the states where open carry is legal without a permit.
BTW, Arizona's law goes into effect Sept 21st.
Lived in Milledgeville for 22 years - Macon and Warner Robins were constant places to escape to, especially that air museum.
At least three of those western states are open carry states, and, as you note, Arizona is about to turn green on your map.
Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon
