Georgia taxes income, sales, and property. Most states do not do all three. Pick one, or at most two!

Sounds good. I think Ga. has enough tourism and conventions to probably pull in more revenue than with an income tax.
And I have more control over how much tax I pay by how much or how little I decide to buy.

I received a rude shock after moving here from Kentucky where retirement income is exempt from state income tax.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I would rather pay 8% sales tax ( I grew up in TN paying 7.75%) than pay state income tax. My question is, will counties add their own tax on top of it, as in SPLOST?
