So how does this affect the Ga/Va disagreement? Make the ongoing litigation down there moot? If so, great.

If not, I might need a couple (thousand) of you guys to send emails to a couple state guys up here requesting overriding our gov's veto of a bill that will moot that suit. I will keep you posted on who/what/when if needed.

I think once the Governor signs it, by July 1 the issue GCO is suing over will be moot here in Georgia. See lines 20-21.
This will also be the first time the Attorney General has an official role in the process. See lines 22-24.

I am not sure yet what I think about that. I will definitely be keeping an eye on Mr. Carr.

The Georgia Senate passed Campus Carry yesterday, but we expect the bill to go to a House and Senate Conference Committee where lawmakers will continue to negotiate a bill that addresses the Governor's concerns in the hope that he will sign it. It is urgent that you call the Governor's office today and everyday and urge him to veto HB 280. Please share this alert with your contacts.
Making the Campus Carry bill even worse, the Senate also passed HB 406, which expands reciprocity to weapons license carriers from other states. This means that the combination of Campus Carry and HB 406 will allow students who are residents of certain other states to carry guns on campus regardless of whether they are 21 years old, as required by Georgia law.

Someone let Virginia know.
Someone let Virginia know.
I suspect your AG will have one of his underlings call and write one of the underlings to (Mark Herring) my AG. He will not like it, being a dem himself but will get it going up here.

Line 21 and 22 are the critical part of that bill.

Was signed into law today
Thanks for the good news.
This law is in effect as of yesterday when Deal signed it.

26 This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law
27 without such approval.
Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the folks in my old stomping grounds for you efforts in getting this through! I couldn't have been happier to see GCO getting thanked in my latest VCDL email.
