This is Texas info, but IMO it's relevant. If a mod thinks not, then move it.

So, 1 daycare center on a campus is ok, but 2 daycare centers on the same campus will make it illegal just like it is now?

"Brian Bensimon, SCC’s Southwest regional director, commented, 'Our opponents often claim that, because the average college student is much younger than the average license to carry holder, the statistics showing LTC holders to be responsible and law-abiding aren’t relevant to the debate over campus carry. However, this data from the Texas Department of Public Safety clearly shows that college-age license holders are just as law-abiding as their older counterparts.'â€

So, in other words, those with a carry license are "those that follow the rules", so they can be trusted to carry on campus in Texas.

Hmmm... Seems like Governor Deal said that about us licensed Georgians back in 2014 when there was an outcry over HB 60 allowing carry in more places.

Apparently, we "follow the rules", but not near enough to carry on campus.

I wonder how hard Governor Deal will let Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle push back against him to help Cagle's efforts to run for Governor as "Pro-Second Amendment"?

We all know that the long, rambling reason Gov. Deal gave to veto HB 859 last year had nothing to do with daycare centers. It was based solely on the fact that colleges are "sensitive places" that should not have guns, period.

So will Deal use the faux daycare excuse this time to sign the bill, now that daycare centers are off-limits in the new bill?

Is this the bone he will throw to Cagle to help him become Governor? Has Deal had that plan approved by the Board of Regents?

Will the Moms Demand Action crowd be disappointed in Casey Cagle and regret having their photo taken with him, when Cagle "supports" the bill? Or did he work out all the details with them in advance, so they know it will be just an act...again.

Deal will once again move the goalposts and invent some new 'concern' beyond the daycare thing.

    From March 2016:

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...forward-to-signing-ceremony-for-campus-carry/

"Also on Monday, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America held a rally against HB 859. The group claimed allowing guns on campus for self-defense is not “justice†and creates a dangerous situation. Governor Deal brushed off the campus carry criticism as the same “hype†the state heard against concealed carry years ago."

Well, we know what happened when Deal brushed them off last year - he did a 180.

They now EXPECT him to maintain course. What will they do if he betrays them?

I do not think that is what it says.

15 "(20)(A) Any weapons carry license holder when he or she is in any building or on real
16 property owned by or leased to any public technical school, vocational school, college,
17 or university, or other public institution of postsecondary education; provided, however,
    18 that such exception shall:
    . . .

21 (ii) Not apply to preschool space if at each entrance to the preschool space it is
22 advertised that such preschool space is designated for operations licensed or regulated
23 under Article 1 of Chapter 1A of Title 20; provided, however, that this division shall
24 not apply if such public institution of postsecondary education has more than one
    25 building on the campus housing preschool space;

But I am not exactly sure what it DOES say . . .

It is illegal to carry in schools, but the law shall not apply to people who fall within the new subsection 20, but this exception shall not apply to daycare centers but this exception to the exception shall not apply if there is more than one daycare on campus?

Gotta love it when lawyers and realtors (the two most common professions in the GA legislature) write these things......
