"At least 10 people were injured in a shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola.

The shooting occurred early Friday morning. The U.S. Navy confirmed that in addition to the gunman, another person has died.

Gunfire came around 6:30 a.m., according to Jason Bortz the public affairs officer for NAS Pensacola.

“Both gates of NASP are currently secured due to reports of an active shooter,” the station’s Facebook page said.

Area hospitals received at least 10 victims from the shooting, although their conditions are not yet known.

The gunman was reportedly shot and killed by law enforcement."

The Navy needs to get a grip with whatever is going on. This comes right on the heels of the Navy Petty Officer that shot and killed the DOD civilians in Hawaii.

Proof that sitting ducks are soft targets, as we see over and over again.

Gun-Free Zones are dangerous places for the unarmed and helpless.

The Pearl Harbor Navy Shooter was on guard duty when he did it.

Navy shooter - Disciplinary problems at work.
    Anger management courses.
Up for Captain’s Mast, a military proceeding below a court martial.
Romero had injuries from punching equipment, including lockers.
Assigned armed position despite history of problems.
Used M4 service weapon to kill the others then used service M9 to shoot himself.

"The shooter was a Saudi national in the U.S. for flight training, two law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation told ABC News. Investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting was terror-related or not, the officials said."

I read this on Fox news earlier:

"The shooter -- who was wielding a handgun, despite firearms not being allowed on base...".

Stupidest thing I've read in a while.

OMG - someone is scheduled to appear for a Captain's Mast and has clear anger management issues and they put him on Shore Patrol? C'mon Navy!

Let me guess - he was there to learn how to fly planes yet, inexplicably, had no interest in learning how to land them...

Read a report (not sure how accurate) that Thursdays are when weekly evals are posted for this flight training course. Lots of these minor and middle-level Saudi nobles (and that is who gets send to learn to fly military jets) get their robes in a twist when they are evaluated on objective standards and fail. They have never been told "no" in their entire lives except by people who are even more noble, and those are few and far between. Blows their mind when some "commoner" doesn't give them what they believe is theirs by right.

Most of the base shootings are from our own military or civilian personnel who live and/or work on the bases. Foreign threats don't seem to be an issue at this point. Strange as it sounds, military bases are, with a few MOS exceptions, just giant gun free zones. And some people suffering from PTSD.

And the major news media is refusing to speculate about this killer's religion.

Hmmmm... he's from Saudi Arabia and his name is Mohammed, but you can't say "Islam" you can't say "Muslim" or "Jihad" bause according to the leftist media that controls all the information sent out to the public, terrorism has nothing to do with the "religion of peace."

What's to speculate about? The guy is from Saudi Arabia. He's either Sunni (most likely) or Shia Muslim. There's really no other options.

As to why he did it? Maybe he was doing jihad. Maybe he wasn't doing well in his training, getting bad reviews and lashed out at his trainers. Maybe he was just psychotic and lost it. Maybe all of the above.

It doesn't state that these six Saudis were trainees from the base. The Fox News channel just stated that three Saudis (part of the six?) were caught filming the shooting.

Congressman on TV today says these foreign folks are not allowed to buy guns. But this one did, at a gun store.

No doubt they have some kind of resident card, which I believe under the law makes it legal for them to purchase a gun store gun.

Guys named Mohamed, well maybe we need a special law...

After 9/11, Marines were put in as the police on these bases. They left this duty some years ago. Now we have the county sheriff protecting military bases ?
